Day 30 - Milkshakes Before Mountains

October 18th, 2025

Bright and early, the royals roll out of Rolling Home RV Park and make a quick stop at a local car wash in Nephi to give our trusty chariot a well-deserved rinse before cruising through Utah’s spectacular national parks. Sparkling clean and ready for adventure, we hit the road for an easy 162-mile drive toward a much-anticipated stop: the Creamery, our neighbor Christian insisted we must visit on our way to Zion.

Like clockwork, the signs for the Creamery appear just outside Cedar City. Inside, long lines snake through the deli, cheese counters, and ice cream stand. After a quick lap around the massive store, we land—without hesitation—in the ice cream line, which thankfully moves fast. One taste in, and it’s clear: this ice cream is divine. As the King sips his chocolate shake and the Queen enjoys butter pecan in a homemade waffle cone, we learn the milk comes from a large dairy farm right in Cedar City, supplying not only the Creamery but much of the greater Salt Lake City area. Fresh doesn’t even begin to cover it—and it absolutely hits the spot.

With no time to waste if we want to reach Zion before dark, we’re back on the road. Our next stop is Springdale, Utah—a quick 57-mile hop to the entrance of Zion National Park. Along the way, we top off the diesel tank to ensure we’re fully fueled for park exploration.

As we approach Springdale, just outside Zion’s gates, the landscape erupts from the desert in dramatic fashion—towering cliffs, bold colors, and jaw-dropping views in every direction. At sunset, we settle into our riverside campsite at Zion Canyon RV Park, right at the mouth of the canyon. With the sound of the gurgling river in the distance and beauty all around us, the royals immediately decide: we’re staying two nights.

We’ve only scratched the surface, but Utah is quickly becoming our favorite state. There’s so much more to see, and we selfishly wish we could slow time so this dream voyage never ends. What an incredible country we’re lucky enough to explore. 🇺🇸🍀😎
